How to wash your lash extensions

Educating your client on how to wash their lash extensions at home is extremely important. Keeping their eyes clean between an eyelash appointments will keep their lashes free from any bacteria building up and eye infections. Having their lash extensions completely clean on an infill is going to help you save time on their appointment as you can go straight into an eyelash top up but will help their retention on their lash extensions.

What is retention?

Retention is how long the lash extensions last on the client. If a client can’t hold onto their lash extensions and they come to your salon with not many lashes left, they have bad retention. If your client always come to you with 50% or more lashes left on, then they have good mention. Reasons why a client will have bad retention can be down too many things. A few of them reasons can be:

– Clients lashes not clean and prepped before you apply their full set of extensions.
– Clients lashes not clean on an infill – Then you are applying extensions onto of a layer of dirt/oils.
– Client has naturally oily lashes. In this case you can switch to our Platinum Lash glue. This is really strong and perfect for this type of client.
– Lash artist not applying the extensions correctly.
– Client is a picker. You want to stress the correct aftercare to your client.

How to clean lash extensions from home

1. Apply the foam into your finger tips and massage into lash extensions.
2. Use the wooden brush with water and go over the lash extensions and get between the bonds.
3. Use plenty of water on the brush to clean the product off.
4. Make sure there is no residue left.
5. Pat dry with tissue.
6. Brush through the lashes.

Your client can do this on their lashes daily or at least every few days. If they are wearing eye makeup then cleaning is recommended needed daily.
